1 - What are the design stages?

CK-D operates a very simple system that is intended to make things easier for all involved.

Quoting - Tell us about your site, how many pages you think you will require and what sort of image numbers are involved. If you already have you text sorted then send us a copy of that to aid in our Quote.
Upon agreement with the quote 50% of the design fee is payable as a deposit. (This sum may be adjusted depending on the size of the job) Hosting or domain name registration fees are extra to the 50% and payable in advance.
Concept designs are created. In practise the number of design options offered depends greatly on how much guidance our customers give us. 3 Potential designs would generally be optimal.
Design agreed. Work commence on creating the rest of the site.
Site is made available for viewing on the Chrispyking-Design server. At this time the client is asked to review the site and stipulate any final adjustments that maybe required, text or image adjustment.
Sign off. Once the client is happy and agrees to the site as it stands. This may well be after adjustments are made.
Final payment, the remainder of the quoted fee, plus any extras that may have been discussed/agreed during design must be paid.
Once payment is received the site will be moved ,by us, onto the clients hosting server. If the client requests it, a CD containing all the site files can be sent out.

2 - Accepted methods of payment?

Cash and Cheques

We accept Cash and Cheques. Please make cheques payable to C. Howe.

Credit/Debit Cards

We use PayPal for our Credit/Debit Cards and with 100 million users worldwide, it's simple, fast & secure. You don't even need an account!

Secure Transaction - PayPal accepts all major credit cards. It's a completely safe and secure way to pay, using 128-bit secure encryption for peace of mind.

There is a 4% surcharge applicable to all Credit or Debit Card payments.

3 - How do I send CK-D my information?

Sending information for your website to us should be done in a clean and clear method.

We suggest a cd structured to represent how you wish your site laid out.
By this we do not mean that you should format the text or size the images.

So what do we mean?

Structure your text with titles that represent the pages the text should appear on. - ie, index/home page / products page / contact us, etc.
If there is a particular piece of text that you would like to stand out on a page then making it bold would be a good idea, that or inserting a note to say that you would like that line altered.
ie. [highlight] We offer 0% Finance[hightlight]

Please place all images relevant to a specific page in a folder named after that page.
ie. All images for the products page should be placed in a folder named – products.

If at all possible avoid using capitols or spaces in your image titles.

4 - What file formats can I send?

Text – Text is preferred in Word.

Images – Please supply images as originals (not reduced in size or dpi) in any of the following formats.
jpeg, bmp, gif, tiff or png.

Other formats maybe used, however these could introduce further charges for conversion.

5 - Who owns the Site files?

Once the site is completed and payment is received in full, all the html, css and image files actually hosted on the clients server are the property of the client.

PSD origination files and templates remain the property of Chrispyking-Design, however these can be purchased.

6 - Do CK-D have to do site updates?

In short … no. Once the site has been completed and payment is received in full it is yours to do with as you see fit. Naturally we would be happy to quote for any future work required on the site.

7 - CK-D Charges and fees

Email Accounts ::

Single Email accounts - £15 each (upto 5)
2 - 10 Extra Email bundle - £120
11 - 30 Extra Email bundle - £280
31 - 50 Extra Email bundle - £430

Upgrade & Ammendament charges ::

Minimum charge of £10
£10 per 15 mins upto 1 hour, £40 for the first complete hour
£25 per hour after the first.
